Joe DiPietro’s work has had thousands of productions around the world. He has won two Tony Awards, a Drama Desk Award and three Outer Critics Circle Awards, among many other honors.  

His new bio-musical, Sinatra, is currently playing at the Aldwych Theatre on London’s West End.

He has two Broadway-bound musicals: 3 Summers of Lincoln (premiere: La Jolla Playhouse) and What's New, Pussycat? which features the hits of Sir Tom Jones (premiere: Birmingham Rep).

His adaptation of Sinclair Lewis' novel, Babbitt, starring Matthew Broderick, recently premiered to critical acclaim at Shakespeare Theatre Company & La Jolla Playhouse.

His other musicals include: Memphis (which won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Musical); Nice Work If You Can Get It (which received 10 Tony nominations); Diana (which can be seen on Netflix); The Toxic Avenger (OCC Award - Best off-Broadway Musical); Ernest Shackleton Loves Me (Off-Broadway Alliance Award - Best Musical); and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (the longest-running musical revue in off-Broadway history). 

His comedies include the much-produced Clever Little Lies, Over the River & Through the Woods and The Last Romance.

His acclaimed all-male adaptation of La Ronde, called F**king Men, is the longest running Fringe show in London history.

His comic thrillers include The Art of Murder (Edgar Award - Best Mystery) and An Old-Fashioned Family Murder (which recently premiered at NTR & George Street Playhouse, starring Sally Struthers.)

He's written two acclaimed historical dramas – Conscience (premiere: George Street Playhouse) and The Second Mrs. Wilson (premiere: Long Wharf Theatre).

He lives in Manhattan with his partner, Derek McCracken, and their rescue dogs, Vito Corleone & Lady Bellaston.
